PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To coordinate and control the train operations function and the utilization of resources (i.e. rolling stock, fleet management, containers and tarpaulins) to ensure a safe, reliable, cost-effective and efficient train operations that meet the customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• B. Degree or National Diploma in Transport Management or equivalent qualification.

• Six (6) years’ experience in rail and road transport environment of which four (4) years should have been at supervisory level.

• Sound knowledge of train operations management and the Company’s policies, procedures and systems on rail operations.

• Interpersonal skills, communications skills, planning skills, ability to interpret financial information, problem solving skills, project management, team building, computer literacy, negotiation skills.

• Self-starting initiatives, assertive, time-management, independent, goal-directed, reliable, emotional maturity/self-control, flexible.
