Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia has a vacancy for a:

1 x Enrolled Nurse – Oshakati
-
1 x Enrolled Nurse – Swakopmund
The Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia (NAMBTS) is seeking motivated, reliable Enrolled Nurses to join the Blood Collections teams in Swakopmund and Oshakati. The role involves providing safe, efficient blood collection services, supporting donor retention, and maintaining high clinical and quality standards at fixed and mobile clinics in the coastal or northern regions.
Key Performance areas include (yet not limited) to:

Conduct pre-clinic checks, equipment quality controls and clinic setup/pack-down in line with SOPs.

Undertake donor counselling and medical screening (blood pressure, pulse, weight, Hb and glucose), accept/refer/defer donors appropriately.

Prepare donors for venepuncture and perform blood collection according to SOPs; manage and document adverse donor reactions.

Pack, store and prepare blood and specimens for temporary storage and courier transport.

Maintain accurate clinic records and complete clinic reports (donor flow, statistics, staff hours).

Provide excellent customer care, handle donor queries and complaints, and promote donor satisfaction.

Ensure consumable and equipment are rotated, secured and maintained; assist with stock orders.

Supervise clinic activities in the absence of Registered Nurse/Supervisor and mentor junior staff.

Participate in audits, training, induction and quality management activities.

Travel to outreach clinics; may work weekends and public holidays; may deliver motivational talks to potential donors.
Minimum requirements:

Enrolled Nurse, registered with the relevant Namibian authority.

Minimum 1-year experience in a nursing or medical environment.

Basic computer literacy.
Competencies: Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills. Mature, confidential, and good interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and lead teams when needed. Flexible, reliable, and willing to travel within the coastal or northern region.
Remuneration: A market-related salary is subject to negotiation.
