VACANCY 

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) is a wholly State-owned company established in terms of the NAC Act (Act no. 25 of 1998) and governed by the Public Enterprises Governance Act (Act no.1 of 2019) and Companies Act (Act no.28 of 2004), to undertake the operations, management, and control of certain aerodromes in Namibia, and to provide for incidental matters.

Artisan: Mechanic

Duty Station: Hosea Kutako International Airport.

Direct Supervisor: Foreman: Mechanical Maintenance.

Purpose of Position: Perform basic to complex diagnostic procedures on all heavy equipment and vehicle systems; determine appropriate maintenance and repairs, effectively apply trade knowledge and automotive diagnostic equipment to interpret manufacturers’ specification.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Trade Diploma in Mechanical with at least 3 – 4 years of working experience in the field of Mechanical maintenance; A valid Code C1 Driver’s License; A valid Code of Conduct.

Added Advantage: Specialized in Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

Key Performance Areas: General repairs and maintenance; Housekeeping; Rescue and Firefighting Trucks; Water Supply Booster Pump Station; Heavy equipment; Staff buses and vehicles; Operational Backup Assistance; Work Preparation Activities; Tools Security and Storage; Progress and Work in Progress Reports; Administration.

Competencies / Skills: Basic understanding of aviation industry and airport operations; Knowledge of Mechanical equipment and tools (repeated twice in original text); Knowledge of modern Mechanical techniques and practices; Microsoft Suite; Administration Process.
