SEVENTY CONSULTING – DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
Position based: TBD
Job Purpose:
The Technician will provide technical support in the operation, maintenance, and repair of dialysis machines and water treatment systems. The position is designed to develop the incumbent from working under supervision to achieving full independence in managing dialysis equipment and related technical responsibilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Support:
-
Assist in the installation, preventative maintenance, and servicing of dialysis machines and RO systems, with guidance.

Conduct routine checks, basic servicing and minor repairs as technical competence develops.

Identify and report mechanical, electrical, or software issues promptly.

Maintain accurate service logs of maintenance and repair activities.
Technical Assistance:
-
Support clinical staff during dialysis sessions and assist senior technicians.

Troubleshoot common equipment issues during sessions as experience and confidence develop.

Coordinate with external service providers and suppliers as required.
Compliance & Safety:
-
Follow strict safety procedures, infection control protocols, and manufacturer instructions at all times.

Report any safety incidents or equipment concerns promptly.
Inventory & Documentation:

Assist in managing spare parts and consumables.
-
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service requests, and consumables inventory.
Learning & Development:
-
Participate in manufacturer and in-house training programs to develop dialysis-specific technical skills.

Continuously improve knowledge of dialysis processes, equipment, and safety protocols.

Progress from performing guided tasks to managing equipment and technical challenges independently, with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
-
National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or Digital Electronics (NQF Level 4-6) is required, along with a high school subjects: Mathematics, Biology, and Natural Science.

Prior experience in technical or mechanical repair is an added advantage.

Strong aptitude in electrical, mechanical, and digital systems.

Ability to read basic schematics or technical manuals is an added advantage.
