JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Logistics Manager, reporting to the Executive: Sales, Marketing and Logistics, you will oversee the entire cement distribution process, working closely with the sales department to identify opportunities, optimize operations, and enhance customer satisfaction. You’ll lead a team of logistics professionals and collaborate with service providers to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery across all markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execute strategic logistics plans to meet sales and revenue targets
Build strong relationships with customers and logistics service providers
Develop robust logistics networks for local and export markets
Optimize operations to reduce costs and improve delivery performance
Ensure effective cement delivery to export destinations
Develop logistics strategies for bulk cement delivery
Research and evaluate potential logistic service providers.
Implement agile delivery systems to support volume growth
Create stock replenishment plans for depots
Resolve customer logistics queries promptly
Lead and mentor logistics teams and stakeholders
Drive staff motivation and skills development
Evaluate team performance against sales forecasts
Prepare logistics and depot operation budgets
Uphold standards in quality, environmental awareness, health & safety, and social accountability.

REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Studies
MBA in Strategic Management is an advantage
Minimum 7 years’ experience in sales, logistics, supply chain or business development (preferably in manufacturing or FMCG)
At least 5 years in a management role
Strong leadership and negotiation skills
Proven expertise in logistics, supply chain, and sales background
Technical understanding of manufacturing and transport operations
Customer-centric mindset with sales-logistics integration experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is a plus
Ability to work under pressure and extended hours
Willingness to travel within Namibia and internationally
