Position: TVET Trainer: Metal Fabrication

a) 1 X Welder
b) 1 X Boiler Maker

Duty Station: Oranjemund

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

• Deliver high-quality teaching, training, and assessment for trainees enrolled for Metal Fabrication.
• Prepare trainees with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills aligned with competency-based education and training (CBET) principles.
• Maintains training tools and equipment.
• Maintain trainee records as required.
• Classroom and workshop management.
• The position upholds compliance with guidelines and policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• National Diploma / Higher National Diploma in Metal Fabrication, Fabrication Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 6 or equivalent).
• Recognised Trade Test Certificate(s) in Welding and Boiler Making/Metal Fabrication (dual competence preferred).
• At least 3-5 years’ industry experience in welding, fabrication, or boiler making (construction, mining, manufacturing, or heavy engineering sectors).
• Recognised TVET Trainer/Teaching qualification (e.g., Diploma in Vocational Education & Training, Technical Teacher’s Diploma, or equivalent).
• Must be registered as an assessor, moderator, and instrument developer with the NTA or in a process of doing so.
• Code B Driver’s License.
