Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Investment Facilitation Office is to help ensure that the maximum possible percentage of investment leads result in realised investment in Namibia by actively facilitating the progress of potential investments in the Potential Investment Pipeline. (Noting that a potential investment will only be registered as an investment lead in the Pipeline if it is a new potential investment that is deemed feasible and attractive and that requires facilitation to be realised).
The purpose of Investment Facilitation Officer (IFO) is to contribute towards this goal by acting as the primary contact for potential investors and by facilitating potential investments.
Role and Responsibilities:
Investment Facilitation Officers, should, as directed:
Support Senior Investment Facilitation Officers as they fulfil the duties of an Investment Facilitation Officer.
Fulfil the duties of an Investment Facilitation Officer for smaller investors.
Relationship Management: Investment Facilitation Officers should, as directed:
Act as the main Deal Owners of assigned Potential Investor Relationships.
Be the primary contact for those Potential Investors.
Monitor and report on the progress of those investors from being investment leads to becoming realised investments.
Investment Facilitation: Investment Facilitation Officers should, as directed:
Convert investment leads into realised investments (with actual capital deployed) by providing facilitation services to potential investors, specifically, this will include:
To provide Potential Investors with the required information.
Liaise with other NIPDB staff.
Liaise with the rest of Government (by contacting individuals, writing official letters and cabinet submissions).
Arrange and accompany Potential Investors to required meetings.
Assist potential investors in obtaining licences, visas, permits, land and service providers.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics or a related field. A Honours degree in any of these fields will be a distinct advantage.
Proven understanding of the Namibia business ecosystem.
Extensive knowledge of and experience in how the Government operates.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in customer service, private banking, commercial development, investment promotion, international development or another role which involves a similar degree of relationship management and coordination to meet client needs.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to broadly assess and understand the business of any investor or project owner.
Ability to see how any business can fit into the Namibian ecosystem.
Ability to promote and sell an opportunity to a potential investor.
Possess strong knowledge and understanding of key business fundamentals.
Innovative problem solving skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong project management and time management skills, including managing multiple concurrent tasks and complex assignments.
Ethical conduct and high integrity.
A good understanding of data privacy and confidentiality standards.
Superior ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and investors.
