The Organisation
Our client is a donor-funded organisation and partner in development in Namibia, working closely with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) Directorate of Special Programmes (DSP), deploying stall al hospital and health facilities across the country as part of a coordinated effort with the MoSS. Their goal is to increase the human capacity needed to provide HIV/AIDS clinical care in countries and regions that are most significantly impacted by the AIDS epidemic. Further to this. our client seeks to support and assist such countries and regions in their development of locally determined health care worker systems to become optirally resourced, highly responsive, and self-sustaining.

The Position
The incumbents will provide transportation duties as official drivers on the project within the regions and carry out all duties and responsibilities related to this position with the required diligence, efficiency, safety and security of the driver and all passengers.
Key focus areas Include:
Transporting:
- Drives staff around locally or around the country in a safe manner, as instructed through the reporting ine:
- Executes messenger duties in a safe and responsible manner by fetching and delivering documents or equipment as instructed through the reporting line.
Maintenance:
- Ensures that the vehicle is serviced as per the respective vehicle service schedule (in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements):
- Ensures that the vehicle is clean before and after each trip;
Checks the condition of the car’s lyres, including tyre pressure. before each trip: - Checks the vehicle’s oil and water regularly:
- Duly reporting any mechanical or ancillary faults when detected to the immediate supervisor;
- Maintain the overall condition of the vehicle.
Administration:
- Maintains proper transport lags and records of daily trips:
- Ensures that vehicle keys. petrol cards, logbooks. and where relevant receipts are handed in for safekeeping before going off duty;
- Submits information and assists with the compilation of transport reports.
General:
• Carry out any lawful and reasonable instruction as instructed through the reporting ine.
The Person
- A Grade 10 Certificate:
- Must be able to read, speak and write in English and one of the local languages:
Must have A Code 8 (8) Driver’s License;
Must have A Valid Public Drivers Permit;
- A Vald Police Clearance Certificate:
- Must be a resident within the region where the position is advertised:
Basic fist aid knowledge and relevant work experience in the Pubic Service and/or NGO seclor as a driver;
Computer literacy.
This is a fixed-term contract position, and our client offers an attractive package.
