Position Overview
The Facility Coordinator organizes, monitors, and ultimately supervises the maintenance of the properties in line with an approved budget under the auspices of prescribed company policies and procedures. The Facility Coordinator is responsible for the operational day-to-day coordination of property-related services to ensure optimal and cost-efficient results.
The Facility Coordinator is also responsible for the execution of the annual preventative maintenance and Health & Safety plans to ensure a proactive approach and ensure longevity of assets.
Essential Job Functions
⦁ Assist the Centre Manager/Property Manager in compiling the annual budgets (including Capex) for the properties under their management.
⦁ Plan, execute, and report on preventative, daily, and ad-hoc maintenance and administrative tasks on an annual calendar, in collaboration with the Centre Manager/Property Manager to prolong the longevity of assets and ensure long-term cost savings.
⦁ Build and maintain good relations with the tenants of the properties with a proactive inclination and approach.
⦁ Identify as part of daily operations potential long-and short-term structural improvements.
⦁ Build up and maintain good relations with third-party service providers to ensure quality service at the best cost and within the budget in the most timeous manner.
⦁ Perform monthly inspections of the properties in line with a property inspection template as agreed, draw up preventative maintenance action plans, and submit them to the Centre Manager/Property Manager.
⦁ Ensuring Asset Registers are updated and managed (Escalators; Elevators; Air-conditioners; Fire Systems; Cameras; Transformers; Tools, etc).
⦁ Technical skills to conduct minor and emergency repairs such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
Requirements
⦁ Grl2 – Postsecondary Apprenticeship or relevant NQF qualification will be an added benefit.
⦁ 5 -7 years of building maintenance experience working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and
steelworks.
⦁ Ability to understand building plans.
⦁ Strong project/organizational skills. Ability to think solution driven and out of the box.
⦁ Computer literate, specifically in Microsoft Office and especially MS Excel.
⦁ Good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
⦁ Namibian citizen.
⦁ Valid Driver’s license.
