JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this job is to review newly assessed applications for
registration, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Fitness and
Propriety (FAP) assessments, deregistration, name change/name
reservations/transfer of shareholding, registration of Principal Officers
(PO’s), auditors and valuators, certification of good standing, review of
constitutional documents, Special Rules, Off-shore applications from
regulated entities for all industries, and to do an assessment of all
applications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Engage with all applicants by providing information and
documentation regarding the registration procedures and
requirements;
• Assess new applications for registration, prepare assessment
report, and prepare license upon approval;
• Assess applications for deregistration (voluntary and NAMIFISAinitiated) and prepare Cancellation Notices/Letters;
• Assess correctness and completeness of applications received
from regulated entities (name change / name reservation /
registration of Principal Officers, etc.) and draft rejection/approval
letters;
• Assess correctness of AML/FAP requirements and make
recommendations to the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA);
• Assist with research on challenges/issues faced by industry
players or the division and make recommendations for policy
review if required;
• Assist with drafting of departmental procedures, Directives,
Circulars, Regulations and Standard when required;
• Attend to walk-in clients, telephonic and email enquiries where
required;
• Participate in Consumer Education interventions;
• Ensure accurate statistical reports are drafted and submitted to the
SFA, and industry relation information is prepared in a timely
manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Accounting /
Economics / Finance;
• At least two (2) years’ administration and regulatory experience.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Knowledge of NAMFISA’s vision, mission and objectives
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Up-to-date with industry trends and legislative environment
• Understanding and interpretation of laws
• Business knowledge and understanding of Insurance, Pensions,
Medical Aid Funds, Microlending and Capital Markets institutions’
registration requirements
• AML/FAP Assessments
• Financial reports analysis and interpretation
• Administrative procedures
• Risk Management

REMUNERATION:
