Purpose of position
The successful candidate will be required to efficiently and effectively process all claims submitted. Effective record keeping of submitted, accepted, repudiated and declined claims. Providing timely and professional feedback to distribution or within the department.
Main duties and responsibilities
Verification of system data versus documentation submitted
Process claims on Thought express and Legacy for all products
Identify and request any outstanding requirements from intermediaries, internal staff and clients
Scanning and uploading of requirements and all claims supporting documentation
Detecting and communication of any fraudulent activities
Prepare letters and memorandums as required
Effective client service to stakeholders
Accurate and timely investigations and feedback to intermediary and stakeholder enquiries
Effective administration of baskets, google doc’s and requirements
Sending of tax certificates as required
Administration of requirements for all claims
Preparation of Memorandums to the board and Sanlam doctors
Identify system errors that need to be logged
Risk identification in all processes of claims and amendments on policies
Identification of problems and logging thereof to the systems support team internal/external that they are not able to fiz
Identify any process gaps or where it can be improved
Identify and request any outstanding FIA source documentation for entities
Screening of all parties of an entity during onboarding of new business and alterations (when required)
Report any discrepancies picked up to management and the compliance department
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12
Diploma in Business Administration will be an added advantage
Minimum of 3 years working experience in the insurance industry and new business environment
Good Sanlam product knowledge will be an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent English (verbal & written) language skills
One local Namibian language – will be a competitive advantage
Intermediate administration, record keeping and data management
Basic Mathematics calculations will be required
Knowledge of Microsoft products (MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word)
Attention to detail, accurate and organised
Work under pressure with a sense of urgency
Strong and very articulated communication skills
Administrative and routine oriented
