Vacancy: General Manager: Hospitality
The GM Hospitality is responsible for the overall leadership and management of all safari lodges on Ongava Game Reserve.
The position is a full time post and based on Ongava Game Reserve.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
⦁ The management of all hospitality personnel and departments.
⦁ Development of human resources and relevant progression/training programs.
⦁ Financial and administrative management of the hospitality businesses.
⦁ Strategic product development.
⦁ Interaction with guests and ensuring a professional five-star guest experience.
⦁ Ensure and provide flawless, professional, and high-class guest service experiences.
⦁ Day to day front of house management of all four Ongava camps.
⦁ Guide and manage the Camp Management teams in the four respective camps.
⦁ Liaise closely with the Guide Manager with regards to activity needs and areas of improvement.
⦁ Identify areas where training is needed and assist with suitable training solutions.
⦁ Continue to implement and maintain Lodge and Company standards for both front and back of house.
⦁ Attend to guest complaints directly in Lodges and ensure suitable corrections have been implemented.
⦁ Analyze customer feedback and provide strategic direction to continuously improve overall rating.
⦁ Manage camp budgets and provide progress reports.
Applicants need to fulfil the following requirements:
⦁ Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience of senior management level in the tourism industry, preferably in 5-star safari properties.
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in relevant business or tourism is a requirement.
⦁ A proven track record in financial and strategic management.
⦁ Experience with needs assessment techniques, quality standards and satisfaction evaluation techniques.
⦁ Should have previous experience training and evaluating staff.
⦁ Have excellent communication and computer literacy skills.
⦁ Must be fluent in English (multilingualism will be a distinct advantage).
⦁ Adequate knowledge of personalized services principles and processes.
⦁ Responsible and reliable with a professional presentation.
⦁ Familiarity with industry’s latest developments.
⦁ Be willing to work long, flexible hours, unsupervised and under pressure.
⦁ Have a valid driver’s license and PDP.
