TOURISM PROMOTION OFFICER – Municipality of Walvis Bay 778 views

Purpose of the Job:
To promote tourism and devise tourism development initiatives/campaigns with the aim of increasing the visitors stream into the town. Promote local tourism opportunities through advertising campaigns and strategies. To provide effective and friendly information services on Walvis Bay and on tourism related matters regarding the whole of Namibia and neighbouring countries, and to assist visitors in resolving a variety of basic queries/questions through sound customer services.

Key Performance Areas:
Promote and market the local tourism Industry
Coordinates the development of the tourism strategies and business opportunities
Information collation and dissemination
Create, maintains the tourism database and office administration
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management/Tourism Innovation and Development/ Hospitality Operations/ Tourism Management Studies plus three (3) year’s working experience in a tourism environment. OR
3 year Diploma in Tourism Management/ Travel & Tourism/ Tourism Innovation and Development/ Hospitality Management plus five (5) years working experience in a tourism environment.

Remuneration:
Basic salary : N$ 352 008.00 pa
Transport allowance : N$ 10 200.00 pa
Housing allowance : N$ 144 323.28 pa, OR
Rental allowance : N$ 73 921.68 pa
