AFRIKAANS LANGUAGE TUTOR – Municipality of Walvis Bay 823 views

The Municipality of Walvis Bay would like to invite applicants for ONE (1) Afrikaans Language Tutor to tutor an American Peace Corps Response volunteer.

Requirements:

•The tutor must be available for lessons this year and be based in Walvis Bay.

•The tutor will be trained in Okahandja from 25 to 30 September then will return to Walvis Bay.

•Peace Corps Namibia will provide lodging, meals and travel reimbursement.

•Two (2) hours per week of Afrikaans tutoring is required.

•The tutor needs to conduct the lessons in an engaging, fulfilled manner with experiential learning including travel and site-seeing activities.

•Tutoring should not be limited to a classroom or a formal school teaching style.

•The tutor should have good morals and ethics and not expose the volunteer to any danger or take him/her to inappropriate places.

•A keen interest in travel and tourism will be an added advantage.

•Peace Corps Namibia will pay the tutor N$ 50.00 per hour, N$ 600.00 per month.

•The agreement will be between the tutor and Peace Corps however the selection of the tutor will be done by Municipality of Walvis Bay.

Qualifications and Experience Required
•Grade 12 (minimum 23 points) plus one (1) years’ experience tutoring.

Advantageous Requirements
•Basic Knowledge of the town of Walvis Bay and its history.
•Well acquainted with Walvis Bay locals and culture.
