Vacancy: Safety Officer

Requirements

– Namibian citizen

– Minimum 5 years’ experience In SHE positions.

– First Aid CLASS A

Valid medical certificate & driver’s license

– Completed SAMTRAC / NE8OSH Qualification

– Fluent in English, command of local languages will be a huge advantage

– Be able to demonstrate skills relating to incident investigations and reporting

Duties & Responsibilities

– Travelling to site across Namibia is an inherent requirement of the job. You will work away from home to attend to shutdowns and projects where your service is required. You will be based in Walvisbay

– You will be required to instil a culture of safe work and responsibility for personal safety amongst the entire work force

– Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing Company’s Health and Safety management system We are IS45011 certified, and you will ensure that we maintain this certification at all times Ensure that the Company complies and adheres to the Namibian Occupational Health and Safety regulations at all times

– Conduct Concord Namibia SHE committee meetings on a monthly basis. Both in Walvis Bay & Okahandja

– Making recommendations to the employer regarding matters of health and safety of employees in the workplace. If these recommendations are accepted, you will take the lead to ensure implementation.

Investigation and reporting of all incidents/ accidents in the workplace, i.e Concord Namibia

–  Responsible for the identification of hazards, risk analysis and minimization of risk by means of sound management, targets, and planning.

– Maintain a register of medical history for the employees (site inductions, medicals, etc) as well as a register of PPE issued. You will ensure that expiry dates are monitored and plan accordingly

– Conduct HSE Toolbox talks on a bi-monthly basis with staff and maintain an attendance register

– Promote safety awareness among Concord Employees.

– Remuneration will be market related based on what you bring to the table.
