QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• B Degree in Education
• Preference given to those with post graduate qualifications: Honours degree specialising in Psychology/Learning Support and Counselling

PREREQUISITES

• A minimum of 5 years class teaching experience
• Relevant professional qualifications, including counselling training
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Computer literacy is essential
• Other essential skills; learning support (all subjects); perceptual skills support; improvements of study skills and approaches
• Soft skills required; warm disposition, accommodating, ability to work in a group, good communicator
• Knowledge and experience of iOS Apple Technology in Education will be an advantage
• Excellent command of English (writing and speaking)

REQUIREMENTS

• Share the Christian ethos and values upheld by our Anglican School
• Working closely with staff to support the perceptual, physical and emotional development of children aged 4-8
• Provide emotional support to students, parents and staff
• Developing individual learning plans for specific learning challenges
• Working in collaboration with parents and other educational specialists to enhance development and growth of children holistically
• Assist in and support school outreach programmes
• An ability to teach and the experience of working with teens/young adults
• The willingness to offer extra-mural activities and/or work after hours in order to fulfil the requirements of the position
• Preference will be given to Namibian citizens or Permanent Residence Permit holders
